The Classic Silhouette - Sleek Hair and Ponytail

To create runway sleek hair you will need:

Hairdryer
Straighteners
Flatbrush
Rat Tail comb
Water Spray
Shine spray
Serum
Hairspray

Before

To begin with, section the hair, working from the bottom layers to the top. Spray hair damp with water, using a flatbrush and hairdryer blowdry the hair straight and repeat for all sections If the hair is naturally curly, straighten the hair first, if the hair has just been washed make you have have blowdried it until it is 90% dry. If you want a parting in the hair, make sure you straighten the hair according to the direction of the parting.

Once finished, add shine spray and serum to the ends to give a healthy shine and a even more sleek finish.

Ponytail

To create a sleek ponytail, first position yourself where you are not to close but far enough you can see everything and work around the model. Then using a brush, pull up all the hair until you have reached the height you want the ponytail to hang, from there comb and use your hand to smooth the hair. Just about you are done, swap your brush to a rat tail comb and further perfect making sure every hair is in place and there are no lumps. Then using a bungee hair tie, secure the ponytail in place. Spray your rat tail comb with hair spray and push back baby hairs at the front and secure any stray hairs. Finish with shine spray and serum at the end of the ponytail.

Note: If the hair is too thick to tie in one go, section the hair in half, tie the front section first and then incorporate the lower section.

Sides pinned in

For this look, simply spin up the top section of hair. Taking a section from each side comb away from face and pin inwards making sure it is tight and sleek. Take the top section, add volume by backcombing slightly and lay over the pinned sections. Add hairspray to secure any baby hairs and finish with shine spray if needed.
